April 2004 Houston:  I have not increased my rates since moving to the new office.  The only thing that has changed is that patients are required to leave a deposit.  This helps us to ensure that our time is used well and that irresponsible people do not cause other patients to miss an opportunity for an appointment.

"Health insurance"

"Health insurance" policies and programs are designed to pay for catastrophic illness and injury.  Health insurance is not intended to help you become healthier, except when you already have a disease.

For example, if you get cancer, health insurance will cover the expense of chemotherapy and surgery and radiation treatments, but it generally will not cover 1) a comprehensive program to help you prevent cancer from developing in the first place, 2) natural treatments which have been proven to reduce the toxicity and side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation, nor 3) natural treatments for cancer - many of which have been proven to make chemotherapy more effective and many of which have been proven to be more effective than chemotherapy.  If you want the best of the health options that are available to you, you will have to liberate yourself from the limitations of your health insurance policy.

Health insurance generally supports treatment with chemical drugs, even though many natural treatments are more effective.  Additionally, the benefits of holistic healthcare can never be achieved with drug treatments prescribed after only a 10 minute visit with the doctor.  How could a doctor possibly understand you and your health after only a 10 minute visit and a drug prescription?

Many things in life are not covered by health insurance, yet people still spend money on them.  Cable television is not covered by health insurance, and at a cost of $500-700 per year, cable TV can drain monies that could have been directed toward helping you get healthier.  At about $3 per day, smoking a pack of cigarettes per day costs over $1,100 per year.  Massage costs $60-80 for one hour.  Facials cost $40-120 and the results last only for a few days or weeks.  My point is that we all have it within our means to afford becoming healthier: cost is rarely the issue.  The issue is making health a priority, doing what we have to do to take care of ourselves.

The fees charged by Dr. Vasquez are very reasonable in consideration of his extensive professional and educational background, the high-quality service, and the pre-prepared detailed and personalized treatment plans that will be constructed specifically for you.  (Many doctors in the Houston area who claim to specialize in "holistic medicine" charge $300-$3,000 per visit even though they have no specialized training in nutrition, botanical medicine or holistic healthcare.)  Many of his clients have been treated by other physicians for years without good results.  Dr. Vasquez's personal goal is to attain significant improvement in your primary health condition within the first two visits.

We charge for our time as other professionals do. We bill for the amount of time it takes to provide the service.

You will find that a unique service included in office visits with Dr. Vasquez is that you will receive a typed and detailed treatment plan with each visit.  These treatment plans generally range in length from 5-15 pages, depending on the complexity of the condition you are being treated for.  These detailed treatment plans enable you to understand exactly how to implement your health plan and what effects to look for.

Office hours are by appointment.  The first visit is generally the longest because we have to cover a large amount of information: your current health, your past health, your family health history, physical examination, review of medications and supplements, physical examination and treatment.  First visits are generally 45-90 minutes, depending on the complexity of your medical history and your condition.  The charge for most first visits ranges from $90-180.  Follow-up visits are generally shorter, and are therefore less expensive.  Thirty-minute follow-up visits are $60, and 15-minute visits are $30.  If your condition requires more time, then your appointment will last longer; if we finish early, you will be charged less.  You can help us to work quickly and efficiently by filling out the new patient information forms before your first visit.

If you have financial restraints and limitations, please let us know ahead of your visit and we will endeavor to accommodate your needs appropriately.

Although our office does not directly bill insurance, you can receive a detailed receipt with the appropriate insurance codes that you can submit to your insurance company. Essentially all major insurance companies cover services provided by a Doctor of Chiropractic, and your plan may also cover care provided by a licensed Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine.  Our office accepts cash, check, and major credit cards.

Laboratory tests may be paid for though our office or directly to the lab depending on our established relationship with the lab.  Most insurance policies cover the expenses for laboratory tests even if they do not cover the fee for the visit.

We are very respectful of our clients time, and go to considerable lengths to ensure that our patients are seen within 10 minutes of their scheduled appointment time. In turn, we require a 24-hour advance notification for a cancellation.  We schedule your appointment to begin on time, therefore you should arrive in the office on time.

  • It is not right for patients to schedule time and then not show up for appointments.

  • Patients schedule appointments by leaving a $60 deposit that is refundable only if they cancel with more than 24-hour’s notice.

  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice from the time of appointment, or failure to arrive for the appointment, result in forfeiture of the $60 deposit.

For services such as prescription refills, detailed medical reports and letters, there is a charge of $35.00.  Although we can generally review of medical records during the appointment for no additional charge, detailed review of extensive (i.e., dozens of pages) medical records may require additional time beyond our normal consultation time.

Dr. Vasquez has a high success rate for the treatment of a wide range of conditions.

Your life is worth the time and effort that it takes for you to become as healthy as you can be.

In many cases, natural treatment will save you significantly in terms of time, money and quality of life compared to allopathic treatment and pharmaceutical medications.
